Trifling Person of the Week

TPN‘s Trifling Person of (Last) Week

Keith Olbermann

I don’t wanna hear it, Keith. Journalism ethics are journalism ethics. You don’t cheer in the press box. You don’t make donations to politicians. That’s J-School 102, right after the 5Ws and the H. It’s not MSNBOLBERMANN. When you run your own TV station, you can make whatever rules you like. Until then, you’re an employee. Nothing more, nothing less. You gotta follow the rules. I bet your trifling ass knows that now.

  1. True, but Fox news also makes considerable contributions to Republican candidates. I used to see MSNBC and Fox as equally biased and disingenous, but at least MSNBC had the decency to hold its employees to a higher standard.

  2. You’re way off base here. Keith Olbermann didn’t do anything wrong. NBC doesn’t forbid their employees from making political donations but they require the employee to get their permission first. Fox journalists make contributions all of the time.

Get your facts straight before you call someone trifling.
